About Bistrot Rougemont

Tucked away in the lively 9th arrondissement, Bistrot Rougemont feels like the kind of place you discover once and then keep recommending to friends. This charming French restaurant brings together the relaxed spirit of a neighborhood bistro with the polished atmosphere many visitors hope to find in Paris. From the moment you arrive, the outdoor seating catches your attention, especially on pleasant afternoons when the street becomes part of the dining experience. The setting feels warm and welcoming rather than overly formal, which makes it easy to settle in and enjoy a long meal without feeling rushed.

Inside, Bistrot Rougemont has a classic Parisian character that matches its location perfectly. The restaurant focuses on dine-in service, allowing guests to slow down and enjoy every course in a comfortable environment. While some places lean heavily on trends, this spot stays grounded in traditional French dining culture with a modern touch that keeps the atmosphere lively and approachable. The menu offers enough variety to suit different tastes, so whether someone is in the mood for healthy dishes, vegetarian options, or rich French flavors paired with wine, there is usually something appealing waiting at the table.

One of the highlights at Bistrot Rougemont is the drink selection. Guests can enjoy everything from cocktails and craft beer to coffee and fine wine, making it a great place for both casual dinners and relaxed evening gatherings. The availability of alcohol and hard liquor also adds to the social vibe that many people look for in a Paris restaurant. At the same time, the service style remains friendly and unpretentious, creating an experience that feels authentic instead of overly tourist-focused. Because the restaurant does not offer delivery or takeout, the focus stays entirely on enjoying the moment in person, surrounded by the atmosphere, aromas, and conversations that make dining in Paris feel special.

This little restaurant is a hidden gem, it is small in size but overflowing with heart. The daily special felt like something crafted with genuine care, almost as if a kind neighbor had invited me over and cooked their very best dish straight from their own kitchen. Everything was freshly prepared, served warm, and full of flavor, with a homely touch that you can’t find in bigger, more polished places. It’s comfort food at its purest: simple, tasty, and made with love.

An absolutely wonderful experience from beginning to end. We visited today for lunch for a special occasion, and were served by the owner's 11 year old son, who was an absolute delight. He worked hard to explain each and every dish on the special lunch menu to us- in amazing English!- and was attentive and dedicated to us and the tables around us. The food was delicious, unique and farm-fresh. Special mention to the beef saute and the pea veloute, which were two of the most wonderful items we've eaten on our trip thus far. The chocolate mousse... wow. It blew every other chocolate mousse I've ever eaten in my life out of the water. The owner was kind enough to offer us dessert on the house for our special occasion, which was such a lovely and unexpected surprise, and we were blown away by the kindness! Highly highly recommend, for incredible, high quality, unique food in the centre of Paris. We will definitely be back!

Nice and cozy restaurant. Our starters were good (veloutet of butternut squash and ouef parfait in light curry), and for the mains we had the raviolis with salmon and stuffed with pate which were quite good, whilst the beef bourgignon was good subtle flavor but was mostly tendons and extremely tough and difficult to cut, let alone chew and eat. That was the only disappointing dish. Good tarte aux pommes and coffee. The owner/chef was warm and friendly and kindly and patiently took us through the chalkboard menu in English, explaining (almost) everything was farm to table and extremely fresh. Lots of French speaking patrons there which is usually a good sign. Overall decent food and good value for a nice dining experience

This traditional French restaurant offers exactly the kind of warm, lively atmosphere you hope for when looking for authentic French dining. The room is cozy and welcoming, with a relaxed buzz of conversation that makes it a great place to enjoy a long meal with friends or family. The kitchen focuses on classic French dishes prepared properly from scratch, and it shows in the rich flavors and generous portions. Comforting staples like slow-cooked meats, hearty stews, and well-prepared starters are particularly good and clearly made with care. One small piece of advice, however: avoid the steak. While the rest of the menu shines, the steak tends to be tough and quite sinewy, making it the one dish that doesn’t match the otherwise solid quality of the restaurant.

Best restaurant we ate at during our stay in Paris. The owner's passion for the restaurant shines through as he takes his time to walk guests through the menu. In particular, the French toast was fantastic. Phenomenal experience for a very fair price.

A quintessential French Bistro experience! Absolutely delightful in every way. The owner/host served us escargots for lunch (not typical) and they were superb. Reservations absolutely required for this unique experience which was absolutely one of our very favorite of our entire Parisian experience

Excellent dinner at Bistrot Rougemont. Attentive and professional service with great food and wine recommendations, and English communication was no problem. Authentic French cuisine with very good quality — the beef stew is a must-try. Convenient location and very good value for money. Highly recommended.
